Offshore law firm Carey Olsen has hired its second disputes partner in Hong Kong in about two weeks in the form of Matthew Watson, who joins from Bermudan law firm Cox Hallett Wilkinson.

Watson’s addition comes on the heels of the hire of another disputes partner, Tim Haynes, who was most recently with Kobre & Kim.

With 15 years of experience, Watson advises multinational companies and wealthy individuals on Bermuda law-related disputes, including insolvency and restructuring, and trust and estate litigations, as well as commercial litigations such as director and shareholder disputes and fair value appraisal actions.

Watson joined Cox Hallett Wilkinson in 2017, becoming a director in 2020. He was previously at the Bermuda office of Harneys.

His arrival means Carey Olsen now has five partners in Hong Kong.
