Duane Morris & Selvam has appointed Gerard Hekker as a director in its Singapore office from Sidley Austin. 

Hekker, whose practice focuses on cross-border capital markets, M&A and telecommunications, media and technology (TMT) transactions, has extensive experience in Indonesia and other ASEAN markets. 

He has acted for public and private companies in Asia, Europe and the U.S. on transactions in various industries including aviation  consumer, e-commerce, finance, infrastructure, petroleum and petrochemicals, natural resources, energy and manufacturing. 

Hekker joined Sidley Austin in 2011 as counsel and became a partner in 2013. Prior to that, he worked at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in Singapore for 11 years as counsel and associate.
