Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom has advised Indonesia’s PT Telekomunikasi Selular (Telkomsel) on its agreement to merge with its parent Telkom's IndiHome broadband arm to create an entity worth 58.3 trillion rupiah ($3.9 billion). HHP Law Firm acted for Telkom.

Other firms advising Telkomsel on the merger are Nurhadian Kartohadiprodjo Noorcahyo Legal (NKN Legal), Muhtar Halim & Partners Law Office (MHP Law Office), and Purbadi & Associates.

IndiHome is Indonesia's largest fixed broadband provider, with more than a 50 percent market share. The move comes as Telkomsel looks to expand in Indonesia's broadband market, Reuters reported.

The HHP team was led by senior partners Iqbal Darmawan and Daniel Pardede. Meanwhile, the Skadden team was led by partners Jonathan Stone and Rajeev Duggal.

Major Japanese law firm TMI Associates has entered into an alliance with Malaysian law firm SY Teo & Co, set up by Sze Yi Teo, an associate in TMI’s Singapore office. The alliance will also establish an office in Kuala Lumpur under the name of SY Teo & Co in Association with TMI Associates.
