Vietnamese law firm Vilaf has named Vo Ha Duyen and Nguyen Truc Hien as its new chairperson and managing partner of the firm’s Ho Chi Minh office, respectively.

Nguyen takes over from Vo, who in turn succeeds outgoing chairman Ngo Thanh Tung. Ngo became chairman in 2007.

“In line with Vilaf’s long-term strategic plan, this is a positive change and a new chapter for Vilaf’s growth, as fresh energy and ambition will be brought in by the new management,” said Ngo in a statement.

In her new role, Vo will take charge of Vilaf’s business development, client relationship, lawyers’ development, as well as business and marketing strategies. She specialises in corporate/M&A, finance, capital markets, energy, infrastructure and real estate, and recently advised KKR on its acquisition of FMCG company Masan for $350 million.

Nguyen has experience in real estate projects as well as credit agreements and turn-key contracts. She also works in sectors such as automobiles, beverages, e-commerce, education, retail and telecommunications.
