The Singapore office of Dechert has added projects and commercial lawyer Maria Tan Pedersen as a partner from Jones Day, where she headed that firm’s Philippines practice.

Tan Pedersen spent more than seven years at Jones Day in its Washington DC and Hong Kong offices. She was earlier a partner at K&L Gates, and before that, at the now-dissolved U.S. law firm Howrey.

Key work done by Tan Pedersen during her time at Jones Day includes advising on the proposed $2.82 billion Laguna Lakeshore Expressway-Dike Project in the Philippines, as well as the IPOs of SSI Group and D.M. Wenceslao and Associates on the Philippine Stock Exchange

Following her appointment, Dechert’s Singapore office now has four partners.
