newsManila-headquartered boutique Gulapa Law has opened an office in Ho Chi Minh City, the commercial capital of Vietnam. This is the firm’s first Asian office outside of its home base of the Philippines.

The new office will be headed by resident managing partner Katrina Aguila, who will oversee a team of  three Vietnamese lawyers. The firm will also second lawyers from the Philippines to the Ho Chi Minh office from time to time.

Since it was founded in 2015 in Manila by Aris L. Gulapa, Gulapa Law the firm has been steadily expanding, most recently opening an office in the Philippine city of Cebu in January last year. It also opened a satellite office in New York City in 2017, and a representative office in San Francisco in 2018.

The firm’s areas of focus include infrastructure, government procurement, information technology and digital research, antitrust/competition, ASEAN trade, and FEM (fashion, entertainment and media).
