Lucien Wong, chairman and senior partner of Allen & Gledhill, has been named as the new attorney general of Singapore. Wong’s term begins in January.

Wong will succeed current office holder VK Rajah, who completes his three-year term this month. Rajah succeeded Steven Chong in January 2014.

Wong has three decades of legal experience and specialises in banking, corporate and financial services. He became a partner at Allen & Gledhill in 1987, and was managing partner of the firm between 1998 and 2012.
