Clyde & Co has hired Eugene Tan as head of the firm’s Southeast Asia construction practice. Tan joins from Drew & Napier, where he was serving as a director in its building and construction team.

Tan has experience in both disputes and transactional/advisory work, focusing on the engineering, infrastructure and construction sectors. He represents clients in court and arbitrations involving FIDIC, PSSCOC and SIA forms of contract. Tan also advises on the review, drafting and negotiations of engineering, procurement and construction contracts and their related agreements including performance bonds, warranties and parent corporate guarantees.

“Eugene’s arrival further builds on our Southeast Asia offering, as well as the key role of the Singapore office as a service hub for Southeast Asia,” said Brian Nash, managing partner of Clyde & Co’s Singapore office, in a statement. “The firm’s growth in the region reflects our strategic plan and our commitment to our clients in Southeast Asia.”

Clyde & Co’s global projects and construction group currently consists of more than 150 lawyers.
