DWF has started a corporate insurance practice in Singapore by hiring Jonathan Goacher as partner from Kennedys, where he led that practice regionally.

Goacher’s practice areas involve corporate and regulatory matters as well as handling insurance issues. He acts for insurers, intermediaries, loss adjusters and other industry participants on matters such as business establishment, mergers and acquisitions, capital and solvency requirements, portfolio transfers, reinsurance and currency controls.

After working as a consultant with Baker McKenzie, Goacher went in-house, working with Roche Pharmaceuticals in the UK for two years. He then moved to DLA Piper, where he spent over a decade as a consultant in Bangkok. Goacher joined Kennedys in Singapore in 2015.

Goacher’s arrival takes the number of partners at DWF’s Singapore office to three, the others being Iain Black and office head Oommen Mathew. Both the latter partners worked with the legacy Eversheds office in Singapore before its merger with Harry Elias Partnership, and they joined DWF when the firm opened its Singapore office last year.
