Hong Kong law firm Howse Williams has appointed Kevin So as a partner in the firm’s dispute resolution practice from Davis Polk & Wardwell, where he was a counsel.

With the appointment of So, Howse Williams now has 27 partners and five consultants. The firm was established in 2012 as Howse Williams Bowers, but dropped the Bowers in the name recently as co-founder Kevin Bowers left to join Tanner De Witt as a consultant.

So’s departure from Davis Polk comes a few months after the firm saw the exit of litigation counsel Maria Sit for Dechert. Around the same time, DCM counsel Margie Chan moved to Norton Rose Fulbright. 

So has experience in civil and commercial disputes including banking, company, insolvency, trusts and estates and real estate matters. He also represents on regulatory matters including criminal prosecutions and investigations by regulators and authorities including the Securities and Futures Commission, the Commercial Crime Bureau and the Independent Commission Against Corruption.
