Anglo-German firm CMS has hired Conor Warde as the head of its asset finance practice in Hong Kong from Mayer Brown, where he led its shipping finance and maritime transactions team.

With more than two decades experience, Warde advises companies, commercial lenders and investors on transactional matters including financial and operational leasing, senior and subordinated debt financings, asset-based lending transactions, private equity investment and cross-border M&A as well as other corporate matters such as regulations and policy.

Warde joined Mayer Brown in 2017 from Clyde & Co, and became head of the shipping finance and maritime transactions practice in 2021. Before joining Clyde in 2013, Warde was a counsel in the Washington, D.C., and Hong Kong offices of U.S. firm Blank Rome.
