Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas has hired corporate expert Sugandha Asthana as a partner in Mumbai from AZB & Partners.

Asthana, who became a partner at AZB in 2016, joined that firm in 2014 from J. Sagar Associates, where she spent six years as an associate. She advises clients in relation to various joint ventures, business transfers, acquisitions, investments (inbound and outbound), corporate restructuring transactions, buybacks and regulatory approvals. 

While at AZB, Asthana was a part of deals such as Tata Consultancy Services' buyback of equity shares, valued at $2.2 billion.
