Berwin Leighton Paisner has appointed Gavin Margetson as its regional head of international arbitration from Herbert Smith Freehills’ Bangkok office, where he was the head of dispute resolution.

Margetson, who will be based in BLP’s Singapore office, has extensive experience in handling complex international arbitrations, litigation, and alternative dispute resolution matters in Asia and Europe.

He started his career at HSF in 1999, serving as a trainee solicitor in the firm’s London and Bangkok offices. In 2006, he became a senior associate and worked in HSF’s Tokyo office.

Four years later, he was promoted to partner and became the head of the dispute resolution practice in Thailand in 2014.
