Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom has hired Kenji Taneda as a partner in its corporate practice in Tokyo from Morrison & Foerster.

Taneda led the MoFo team that guided Japan’s Fujifilm Holdings on its $ 307 million public tender offer last year to acquire U.S.-based bioventure company Cellular Dynamics International.

He has represented both issuers and underwriters in capital markets transactions in both Tokyo and New York, including equity and debt offerings by Japanese corporations, financial institutions and sovereign entities. Prior to MoFo, Taneda worked at Sullivan & Cromwell.
