London-headquartered legal network Multilaw has appointed Piyanuj (Lui) Ratprasatporn, a partner with Thailand’s Tilleke & Gibbins, as its new chair.

Piyanuj, who will serve for two years, is currently a member of the Multilaw board and its management committee. She takes over from Hope Krebs, a Philadelphia-based partner with Duane Morris.

At Tilleke & Gibbins, Piyanuj advises domestic and international clients on investing and conducting business in Thailand and is director of the firm’s corporate and commercial department in Bangkok. 

Her expertise also covers regulatory compliances and legal requirements for local and foreign investors who wish to expand their investments in the Thai market.

Amarchand ‘to split into two firms’

Estranged brothers Cyril and Shardul Shroff have decided to split the 98-year-old Indian law firm Amarchand Mangaldas into two new firms, each controlling one of the legacy firm's Mumbai and Delhi regions, according to a report in Indian newspaper Economic Times. The split is expected to come into effect on April 1.
