White & Case has hired banking specialist Charles McConnell as a local partner in Singapore from Linklaters, where he was a counsel.

This is White & Case’s second banking partner hire in Singapore in the last six months, following Alexander (Xander) McMyn’s move from Hogan Lovells in September.

McConnell specialises in cross-border financings, advising clients on corporate, sponsorship, leveraged and acquisition financing, and structured and secured lending transactions. He joined Linklaters in 2008, and was made counsel in 2017.

Baldwin Cheng, a partner in White & Case's Asia banking and restructuring practice, said, “Charles has received industry recognition for his ability to understand clients’ businesses and optimise capital solutions to meet the needs of each financing.”
