Yeong Zee Kin, Deputy Commissioner
Personal Data Protection Commission Singapore
Yeong Zee Kin is a Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) lawyer. Prior to taking up his present appointment as Assistant Chief Executive and Deputy Commissioner at the Personal Data Protection Commission, he was Senior State Counsel and Director of Technology Law in the Civil Division of the Attorney-General’s Chambers and held a concurrent appointment as Senior Director (Special Projects) in the Legal Services department of the Ministry of Communications and Information. During that time, he was also legal advisor to the Smart Nation Programme Office and the Cyber Security Agency.
Prior to that, he was Senior Assistant Registrar and CIO cum CDO of the Supreme Court of Singapore. During his time in the Supreme Court, his administrative responsibilities included (at various times) the management of its registry, statistics unit and CISD. He managed the Supreme Court's Shipping, Intellectual Property, Information Technology and Employment lists and developed the specialised procedures for managing IP cases in the Supreme Court IP Court Guide. He continues to be engaged in procedural law reform as a member of the Supreme Court’s Civil Justice Commission

Jennifer Koo, Lead Attornery Jennifer Koo is currently the lead attorney for Microsoft Singapore. In this role, Jennifer is responsible for the company’s corporate, external and legal affairs in Singapore. This includes supporting commercial transactions and providing regulatory counsel to business groups on public policy issues such as intellectual property rights, privacy and internet security and safety. Before joining Microsoft, Jennifer was with eBay as its legal counsel responsible for Southeast Asia. Jennifer started her career in Rajah & Tann, one of the largest law firm in Singapore, focusing on intellectual property technology, entertainment and communications law. Jennifer is a co-founder of womenLEAP, a group for legal, executive and advisory professionals to connect, collaborate and network and is passionate about women in leadership. |

Simon Chesterman, Dean – School of Law, National University Singapore Professor Simon Chesterman is Dean of the National University of Singapore Faculty of Law. He is also Editor of the Asian Journal of International Law. His teaching experience includes periods at the Universities of Melbourne, Oxford, Southampton, Columbia, and Sciences Po. From 2006-2011, he was Global Professor and Director of the New York University School of Law Singapore Programme. Prior to joining NYU, he was a Senior Associate at the International Peace Academy and Director of UN Relations at the International Crisis Group in New York. He has previously worked for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Yugoslavia and interned at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. Professor Chesterman is a recognized authority on international law and author or editor of seventeen books including Law and Practice of the United Nations (with Ian Johnstone and David M. Malone, OUP, 2016); One Nation Under Surveillance (OUP, 2011); You, The People (OUP, 2004); and Just War or Just Peace? (OUP, 2001).

Arun Sundar, Chairman Asia Analytics Alliance of Asia Cloud Computing (ACCA) Arun Sundar is an opinion leader in the Asia Pacific technology space. Arun has built, led and advised many technology businesses both in the region and world-wide. Presently, he is the Chief Strategy Officer at TrustSphere, widely known as the pioneers of the ‘Relationship Analytics’ category, where he leads the formulation and execution of the company’s strategic direction and growth. The rise and direction of TrustSphere is now a subject of Harvard Business School case-study in the making. Arun was recently conferred with the " IT Excellence Award 2017" for his contributions to the world of Information Technology by the Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs Kerala. In his personal capacity, Arun is an eminent champion of and commentator on the trending subjects of People Analytics and Machine Learning. He also serves as the Founding Chairman of the Asia Analytics Alliance, a Board Member with Asia Cloud Computing Association, an executive committee member of Singapore IT Federation, a Charter Member of TiE (Singapore Chapter) and an advisor/board member to multiple technology ventures.  Tharishni Arumugam, Regional Privacy Counsel, APAC, Tharishni Arumugam is the Regional Privacy Counsel for Asia-Pacific at Aon, where she oversees data privacy issues across all of the Aon Group’s business lines within the region, as well as coordinating privacy issues for Aon’s Global Innovation Centre. Currently based in Singapore, she is a qualified lawyer specialising in all aspects of privacy including interpretation and application of law and regulation, drafting guidance and policies, incorporating codes of practice into businesses, conducting data privacy audits, sensitive data issues, drafting guidance on marketing rules, and incident response and breach management. She has written internationally-published articles and conducted workshops and seminars on issues relating to data privacy laws in the region, and regularly speaks at privacy events across the APAC region. Asmita Ranade, Senior Director, Application Development, Incubation Team, AON Asmita Ranade is Senior Director and Head of Business Development within the Aon Centre for Innovation and Analytics in Singapore. She joined Aon in 2006, bringing over 10 years of consulting experience in software solutions, design, and research and innovation. Having worked in the UK and India, she is currently based in Singapore. Asmita and her team strategically look for ways to create top and bottom line value using data and technology, helping create a roadmap to implement net-new product lines into the business. Working with teams throughout the world, the business development team aims to create new portfolios of products for clients with the use of powerful data based analytics tools.
