Paul Westover is an experienced expert in all areas of corporate/commercial work with a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions, specifically cross-border, related due diligence, private equity and inward investment into Asia. Paul heads the corporate group in Hong Kong.

 

Paul has extensive experience of acquisitions and disposals across the Asia region and his broad expertise and sensible approach is appreciated by clients, particularly in structuring transactions and on matters of corporate policy.

Athistha (Nop) Chitranukroh is a Partner and Deputy Director of Tilleke & Gibbins’ corporate and commercial group, head of the firm’s insurance practice, and joint head of the firm's technology industry group. She represents multinational and local insurers and reinsurers on a range of key matters, including market entry, M&As, insurtech, and regulatory compliance across Southeast Asia. She also regularly advises technology clients on privacy and data protection, fintech, regtech, digital currencies, and more.

 

Prior to joining Tilleke & Gibbins, she served as General Counsel of an American multinational corporation, listed on the New York Stock Exchange, where she oversaw all operations within the legal department in Thailand. She was responsible for a wide range of legal and regulatory issues in Thailand and other Southeast Asian countries, and led significant restructuring, business expansion, and regional shared service projects. She was previously an Asia-Pacific Regional Legal Counsel for the same multinational corporation in Singapore. She also worked in private practice for almost a decade at the Bangkok office of a leading international law firm.

 

She serves as an advisor to the Thai General Insurance Association, an advisory board member of Insurtech Asia, and the firm’s representative to the Thai Fintech Association. Julien Pochet,a Belgian citizen, has more than 20 years of legal experience, with 10 years accumulated from the ENGIE Group, and displays unparalleled knowledge on the ENGIE Group’s history, experiences, aims, and objectives. He graduated with distinction in law in 1995 from U.C.L., Louvain-la-Neuve and secured an international law degree in 1996 from Rijksuniverstiteit Leiden, the Netherlands and a Master in International Politic at the U.L.B in Brussels.

 

He started his career as a corporate lawyer for top tier international law firms (Allen & Overy, CMS Mc Kenna) and renowned practitioners in Belgium (with a secondment of 6 months in London) focusing on Merger and Acquisition, litigation of minority shareholders and capital market transactions. In 2004, he made a career move joining as in-house counsel the Belgian Post (now BPost) assisting the semi-privatisation of this former administration.

 

After having closed that transaction, he joined in 2007 the ENGIE Group (formerly called GDF SUEZ) starting as Chief Legal Officer for the Commodity & Portfolio Management Trading business in Belgium. After 4 years, he then moved in 2011 to Chile as General Counsel Chile where he was focusing on developing energy projects.

 

In 2015, he left Chile for Thailand and assume since April 2015 the position of General Counsel & Ethics Officer of Business Unit Asia-Pacific, which position he continues to occupy to-date. Under his leadership his team has been selected in 2018 as a member of the Legal 500 GC Powerlist Southeast Asia and he has been recently selected as a member of the 2019 Legal 500 GC Powerlist for Southeast Asia.

 

Jackson Pek

Jackson Pek oversees corporate and legal affairs worldwide for the AirAsia Group, Asia's leading low-cost airline serving more than 130 destinations across Asia, the Pacific, the Middle East and the U.S.

 

Prior to joining AirAsia in 2018, he served as Vice President and General Counsel, Asia Pacific for global travel technology company Amadeus.

 

Before joining Amadeus in 2006, Jackson was a senior attorney at IBM for Asean and South Asia. He also practised law in the US and Asia with global law firms White & Case and Skadden Arps and served on the faculty of the National University of Singapore (NUS) Law School.

 

A frequent speaker at industry events, he has presented at international conferences organized by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), International Air Transport Association (IATA) and Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA).

Jasreen Singh

Omar Mahmood

Omar Mahmood completed his LLB (2009) and LPC (2013) at the University of Manchester and the University of Law respectively.

 

He has worked as a paralegal in London, Dubai and Abu Dhabi; both in private practice and in-house.

 

Having relocated to Singapore, he was approached by Thomson Reuters to join as a Product Specialist due to his legal background and his familiarity with their legal platforms. Throughout his career and during his time as a student, he has been an active and avid user of Westlaw. He also has experience with using Practical Law during my time at Arabtec when he worked in-house.

 

His experience of communicating to a large group of people, who were either clients, or potential clients – at events at which he was selected to speak and market services – was invaluable to his current role. Rijuta Misra

After business expansion, her role has further enhanced to lead and manage operation of Legal Dept.
