Deacons, Ropes & Gray, and Soga Law Office have advised Japanese pachinko hall operator Dynam Japan Holdings on its $200 million global offering on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the first Japanese company to obtain a primary listing in the territory.

Dynam, which became the first pachinko business to list on a stock exchange, operates in 46 out of 47 prefectures in Japan, and is expected to use the capital raised from the global offering to finance the development of 75 new pachinko halls, potential acquisitions, and to upgrade existing systems.

Deacons, led by Hong Kong partner Ronny Chow, advised the company on Hong Kong law, with Ropes & Gray and Soga advising Dynam on U.S. and Japanese law respectively.

Meanwhile, DLA Piper advised Dynam’s parent company on Japanese law, while Baker & McKenzie and its member firm Baker & McKenzie GJBJ Tokyo Aoyama Aoki Koma Law Office have acted as Hong Kong, U.S. and Japanese counsel to the joint bookrunners and lead managers on the transaction, namely Shenyin Wanguo Capital, Piper Jaffray Asia, and CITIC Securities Corporate Finance.

The Baker & McKenzie’s team was headed by Hong Kong securities partners Brian Spires and Elsa Chan, and Tokyo-based partner Ken Takahashi.
