Japanese law firm Mori Hamada & Matsumoto has promoted four associates to partnership at its Tokyo office. The promoted partners include Atsushi Okada, Shuhei Kubota, Takahiro Inou and Osamu Yamanaka.

Okada is dually qualified in Japan and New York, and focuses on litigation, dispute resolution, intellectual property and IT. He was formerly at Weil, Gotshal & Manges’ Silicon Valley office between 2007 and 2008.

Kubota, meanwhile, specialises in mergers and acquisitions (M&As), private equity, and general corporate and regulatory matters. He is admitted to the Japan and New York bars, and was seconded to Mitsubishi International Corp between 2008 and 2009.

Licensed to practice in Japan, Inou has robust experience in M&As, litigation, dispute resolution, bankruptcy and restructuring.

Yamanaka specialises in M&As, litigation, dispute resolution, and general corporate and regulatory matters. He is admitted to the Tokyo Bar and was one of the co-authors of a book titled the “Q&A for Earthquake Disaster Related Legal Affairs – Corporate Responses in Practice" that the firm published in 2011.
