International firm DLA Piper recently appointed former Abercrombie & Fitch Asia senior director and general legal counsel William Marshall as an of counsel at its Hong Kong office.

By recruiting the in-house advisor of the U.S. fashion retail chain, DLA Piper aims to boost its international trade practice, and enhance its advisory services on supply chain and corporate structuring.

As the only in-house counsel at Abercrombie & Fitch’s Asia office, Marshall was tasked with legal matters ranging from corporate formations, foreign direct investments, anti-corruption and corporate and regulatory compliance matters, in addition to structuring of merchandise sourcing.

Prior to joining DLA Piper, Marshall was an associate at the New York office of Grunfeld, Desiderio, Lebowitz, Silverman & Klestadt - the biggest largest customs and international trade boutique law firm in the U.S. - where he mainly focused on representing respondents in trade remedy proceedings.
