Tilleke & Gibbins has promoted its Vietnam-based corporate/commercial expert Michael Lee to partnership in Ho Chi Minh City; a move that reflects the growing amount of corporate work originating in Vietnam for the firm.

Based in Vietnam since 2007, Lee has served as the corporate/commercial department head since 2010, and is expected to continue in this position even after the promotion. He concentrates on M&As, licensing, commercial transactions, regulatory affairs, as well as labour and FCPA compliance matters. He also has prior experience of civil and criminal litigation in the U.S.

“Over the past two years, Tilleke & Gibbins has seen tremendous growth of our corporate and commercial practice in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. Michael’s leadership has been invaluable to our continued development of this key practice area,” said Tiziana Sucharitkul, co-managing partner of the firm, in a statement.

Lee is a registered foreign lawyer in Vietnam and qualified in California, Texas and Colorado. ALB
