Duane Morris & Selvam has hired Toshikazu Miyamoto in Singapore as a director in its corporate practice group from K&L Gates in Tokyo, as the firm looks to add heft to its Japan desk.

Miyamoto’s practice focuses on  cross-border M&A and joint ventures, finance and general corporate matters involving Asian companies. He has also represented clients in international securities offerings, including U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and Hong Kong registered offerings.

Dividing his time between Tokyo and Duane Morris & Selvam’s Asia offices, Miyamoto is expected to work closely with fellow Japan desk members Maniko Lim, Geoffrey Grice and Manfred Otto.

“We are happy to welcome Toshikazu to the firm," said Krishna Ramachandra, managing director of Duane Morris & Selvam LLP. "His cross-border experience, particularly in Japan and greater China, will help us serve our clients in wherever they may do business."

Apart from offices in Singapore, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Yangon and Shanghai, the firm has country desks focusing on India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Korea, Japan, the Philippines, Malaysia and Australia. In September, the firm entered Sri Lanka with an alliance with local firm Gowers International.
