Winston & Strawn is opening an office in Dubai’s DIFC in the coming months, which will be headed by Stephen Jurgenson, the former Abu Dhabi office managing partner of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman.

Jurgenson, who has 20 years of experience, focuses his practice on the electric power (including renewables and clean energy), water, oil and gas, LNG, mining, and infrastructure sectors in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He is areas of expertise include project finance and infrastructure, banking and institutional finance, corporate, mergers and acquisitions and construction.

Jurgenson joins as part of a broader project finance team from Pillsbury, which includes James Simpson, co-head of that firm’s global energy and infrastructure team, along with two of counsel and four associates.

Currently, Winston & Strawn has 18 offices in North America, Asia and Europe.
