Morrison & Foerster has hired fund formation specialist Jason R. Nelms as a partner from Proskauer Rose’s New York office, where he was a senior associate.

Nelms has more than a decade’s worth of experience in Asia and the U.S., focusing on the structuring, formation and offering of private investment funds such as private equity funds, real estate funds, hedge funds, co-investment vehicles, and other alternative investment products.

He also counsels fund sponsors on carried interest plans, management company structuring, shareholders’ agreements, and related internal governance matters. In addition, Nelms advises investment firms and their principals in the purchase and sale of significant minority interests in asset management businesses.
