India’s J. Sagar Associates has hired a team of five lawyers in Mumbai from L&L Partners, including partner Apurva Jayant.

Jayant, who has over 13 years of experience, is an expert in M&A, joint ventures and general corporate matters. He had resigned from L&L Partners recently while the firm was witnessing a public spat between equity partners Rajiv Luthra and Mohit Saraf.

Following the hire of Jayant, JSA’s Mumbai office has 34 partners.

Recently, JSA’s Delhi office lost a team of five banking and finance specialists, including partners Divyanshu Pandey and Arpita Garg to S&R Associates.
