The PRC’s Grandall Law Firm has hired Thomas So as a partner and head of its dispute resolution department in Hong Kong from Mayer Brown. So, a former president of the Law Society of Hong Kong, was at Mayer Brown for more than 25 years.

With areas of expertise that include commercial and criminal litigation and arbitration, as well as bankruptcy, liquidation, real estate related legal affairs, So is experienced in cross-border disputes, litigation cases involving real estate, defamation, and media, as well as China-related commercial disputes.

Apart from serving as the president of the Law Society of Hong Kong from 2016 to 2018, So is a member of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, sitting on its Social and Legal Affairs Committee. He is also as an arbitrator of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre and the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission.

Grandall’s Hong Kong office now has five partners with the addition of So.
