UK law firm Reynolds Porter Chamberlain has welcomed aboard disputes lawyer Ivan Chang as a partner in Hong Kong. Chang’s most recent role was that of partner at Addleshaw Goddard, which closed its Hong Kong office last year.

Since Addleshaws announced its exit from Hong Kong, a number of its partners have found new homes. They include R&I partner Lance Jiang (moved to Ashurst), and disputes partner Ronald Sum (Baker McKenzie), and Janie Wong (Howse Williams).

Chang advises international corporations and financial institutions, including banks in mainland China, on litigation, contentious compliance, data privacy and cross-border data protection. One of his notable cases was Sun Tian Gang vs. Hong Kong & China Gas (Jilin) Ltd, in which the court successfully set aside an eight-year-old arbitral award.

Chang’s strong connection with Hong Kong financial institutions, family offices and wealthy individuals is an asset, RPC said in a statement.

With this addition, RPC now has 17 partners in Hong Kong.
