Stephenson Harwood has added another partner to its Hong Kong office, this time hiring capital markets practitioner Amy Yu from Eversheds Sutherland. Yu was at Eversheds for nearly nine years.

Yu becomes Stephenson Harwood’s third Hong Kong partner hire this year alone. In January, the firm welcomed transaction specialist Danny Kan and disputes expert Dorothy Siron from Ping An Group and Zhong Lun Law Firm, respectively. Prior to that, an eight-attorney shipping and maritime law team led by Paul Ho, head of Ince & Co’s Greater China practice, moved over in October; funds lawyer Ren Yong joined from Proskauer Rose in September; and corporate finance specialist Justin Ma was hired from the PRC’s Jingtian & Gongcheng in May.

With close to two decades of experience, Yu advises on IPO, M&A, reorganisations, joint ventures, and compliance and regulatory matters.

Yu joined Eversheds in 2015 and became a partner in 2018. Previously, she worked at Latham & Watkins, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, and local outfit Woo, Kwan, Lee & Lo.

Her arrival takes the number of Stephenson Harwood partners in Hong Kong to 25.
