Goltsblat BLP, the Russian branch of Berwin Leighton Paisner, has hired Sergey Milanov as the head of its Asia practice in Moscow. Milanov joins from K&L Gates’ Moscow and Tokyo offices.

Milanov, who will be a partner in Goltsblat BLP’s banking and finance practice, has experience in project finance in the Russian oil and gas sector and has advised and represented lenders and sponsors on the implementation of PSA projects for developing oil and gas deposits in the Russian Far East and Eastern Siberia.

Prior to joining K&L Gates, Milanov practised with Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe in Tokyo and White & Case in Moscow, New York and Tokyo.

Last year, partner Ian Ivory moved from Goltsblat BLP in Moscow to head BLP’s Asia corporate practice in Hong Kong.
