Watson Farley & Williams (WFW) has hired Samuel Kolehmainen as partner in its aviation finance team in Singapore from Clifford Chance.

A senior associate at his previous firm, Kolehmainen advises lessor, lenders and borrowers on aircraft finance transactions. He also worked as sole legal counsel for an aircraft operating lessor in Ireland.

With the aviation space in Southeast Asia continuing to see a great deal of activity – Vietnam’s VietJet signed a $2.39 billion Airbus order last month – law firms are looking to tap into its potential. U.S. law firm Vedder Price opened an office in Singapore last month to focus on transportation finance.
