Ashurst has appointed project finance specialist Alfred Ng as a partner in Singapore from Shearman & Sterling, where he was a counsel.

Ng has experience advising on project finance transactions in sectors including power, infrastructure, oil and gas and petrochemicals, particularly in the Southeast Asia and South Asia region.

"We anticipate significant infrastructure opportunities across Southeast Asia for at least the next decade,” said Rob Palmer, Ashurst’s Singapore managing partner, in a statement. “The firm is growing its team and investing resources to develop a hub in Singapore to work across the region and beyond. We are confident that Alfred will play a key role in further developing our project finance capability."

At the ALB China Law Awards 2018, Ashurst was one of the firms on the deal that won Project Finance Deal of the Year. The firm advised China Development Bank on its $4.5 billion financing of the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Rail in Indonesia, the largest infrastructure project in Indonesian history.
