Pinsent Masons MPillay, the Singapore formal law alliance of Pinsent Masons, has strengthened its technology, media and telecommunications practice with the appointment of Alexander Shepherd as a partner from Bird & Bird.

Shepherd’s areas of focus include technology procurement and outsourcing for financial institutions, hedge funds and telecoms companies, fintech, and data protection and privacy.

His appointment comes shortly after Pinsent Masons MPillay lost infrastructure disputes partners Jon Howes and Sean Hardy to Clyde & Co.

Prior to joining Bird & Bird, Shepherd spent over nine years at Simmons & Simmons, becoming a partner in Dubai before relocating to Singapore.  He also spent nine years with Linklaters.
