Korean Big Six law firm Yoon & Yang has hired shipping finance specialist Elayne Heeseung Sung (L) and corporate expert Irene Y. Kim as senior foreign attorneys in Seoul from Lee & Ko and Samsung Electronics, respectively.

These hires come shortly after Yoon & Yang welcomed three senior foreign attorneys in March: Corporate/M&A lawyers Jason W. Lee and Sung Jin Ro from Kim & Chang and Versum Materials, respectively and technology expert Song Feng Hong from Bae Kim & Lee.

Sung advises financial institutions and Korean shipping companies on transactions, including syndicated and bilateral credit facilities, sales and leasebacks, cross-border leases and offshore financing. Having started her career at Kim Shin & Yu in 2000, Sung moved to Lee & Ko in 2001.

Experienced in cross-border transactions, Kim advises multinational companies, private equity funds, and financial institutions on M&A and corporate matters. Her clients include companies in the technology (including semiconductor) and finance industries. This is her second stint at Yoon & Yang; she previously worked for the firm from 2016 to 2020 before moving to Samsung Electronics.
