Vasudha Goenka, who was most recently a deputy general manager at India’s securities regulator, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), has joined law firm Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas as a disputes partner in Mumbai, where she will focus on the firm’s contentious securities market practice.

Goenka’s addition comes on the heels of two partner hires the firm made in June, with technology specialist Gauhar Mirza joining in Delhi from Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. and corporate practitioner Jeeta Nayak returning to CAM’s Mumbai office from Samvad Partners.

Goenka has more than 16 years of experience at SEBI handling contentious proceedings including enquiry, adjudication, Section 11B matters, settlement and recovery matters.

Having started her career SEBI in 2007 as assistant general manager, she was promoted to deputy general manager earlier this year.

With Goenka’s arrival, CAM now has 75 partners in Mumbai.
