Insurance-focused law firm Fenchurch Law has expanded its offerings beyond the UK for the first time, announcing plans for an office in Singapore.

Singapore will serve as the London-based Fenchurch’s Asia hub, as the firm looks to tap policyholders and brokers from across the island-nation and wider Asia-Pacific region on high-value commercial insurance disputes.

Fenchurch, founded in 2010, recently announced that it had transitioned to an employee-owned business model through the launch of an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), which saw 60 percent of its shares awarded to its people. Fenchurch Law will be the first EOT business to operate in Singapore, the firm said.

“As a purpose-driven organisation, we exist in order to help level the playing field between policyholders and their insurers. This is a need that exists in all insurance markets around the world, and we’re delighted to be taking the first step in furthering our purpose internationally with the opening of our Singapore office,” said David Pryce, the firm’s managing partner.

The announcement comes at a time when Australian insurance-focused law firm Wotton + Kearney also outlined its intention to establish an office in Singapore.
